Musicals.
I am supposed to be trying to finish my Dracula/Woman in White crossover so that I can move on to some Ragtime fic. Instead I am being way more amused than I should be by the Sarah Brightman and Antonio Banderas recording of the song "Phantom of the Opera". Of course, I'd rather have Spanish-Phantom and Rabid-Chipmunk-Christine than Scottish-When-I'm-Pissed-Phantom and Single-Blank-Expression-Non-Singer-Christine. Can you tell I was not super thrilled with the casting of the '04 movie? I sure hope they do a better job with the casting of Sweeney Todd. (Though I heard that Burton and Depp might be attached to that, and I went "Burton and Depp doing Sondheim? What, and Bonham-Carter will be Mrs. Lovett? I'd rather have them get Lansbury and Hearn back, thank you very much. Or even LuPone and Cerveris.")
