I just did the coolest thing. Without even realizing what I was doing, I just constructed a textbook reductio ad absurdum argument in writing a genealogy e-mail.

I love logic. I love my education.

I received a drastically degraded image of an old photograph in the mail yesterday. Many generations from the original, this is probably a photocopy of a bad printout of a photocopy. Unfortunately, we've lost track of the original. I am pleased just to have the image we have, but I'm not content. I'm sure the image could be repaired to some degree ( Read more... )

Many years ago, around the time my parents got married, my dad took slides on his old Minolta SLR of some old photographs that were in the possession of my great-grandparents (the Duttons, my mom's grandparents). Today while I was fooling around with Google Earth and TerraServer, I found a fairly resolute aerial image of Friendship Cemetery which might be useful for my mapping project.
