Assault Points for Permits

Have them ready beforehand. How far beforehand, I don’t really care, but “I need to do a quick Golden Salvage” is not an acceptable thing to announce at Salvage gather time. Remember that every single person doing Salvage needs points too and try to set up ways to get points in advance. It is not the group’s job to ( Read more... )

One thing I do for my salvage group is: I start people off with 3 initial picks and as your attendance increases you get additional picks. So in my linkshell you start off with 3 choices, and once you have 50ap, your entitled to a 4th pick, 100ap your entitled to a 5th pick, 150ap = 6th pick. It is a system that has worked for us because I think it encourages people to keep coming and the people who are most active and put in most work continously get rewarded.

It is setup so 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > etc

But it is also nice because just because someone has a ton of runs it doesnt mean they can lootwhore everything since the additional choices are descending order.

You could run into the problem where someone completes all 5 of their choices with your system and they dont really have much left to get - granted if its a small enough static they will prob get free lotted stuff but hard to say.

Just some food for thought, not saying my way better than yours or not just giving you options on something thats worked well for my shell.

Obviously it doesnt have to be every 50ap - it could even be 25ap for #3 and 50 for #4 or whatever combination you want. It is also a good way to see how committed people are to your group before you go and award them 5 picks off the get-go.

Well, the nice thing about the TWLI design is that it weighs everyone against everyone else so I don't have to worry - the longer you're in the group, the more stable your score. You can't lootwhore in that system because eventually your loot score becomes much higher than your work score, which puts your TWLI rating in the gutter and makes you ineligible to lot.

Straight point systems strongly favor luck and harshly penalize people that have a bunch of points but can't spend them because nothing is dropping. With TWLI, it auto-balances itself. It still can't make certain things drop, but it can make it so people can get their 2nd or 3rd picks, sometimes over someone else's 1st pick, if their luck is bad enough.

I'd be really interested in your TLWI as I am going through the exact same thing as you now, trying to set up a Salvage group at the end of Nyzul.

If you'd be willing to share it with me, I'd appreciate it.

It's not done yet, but I'll make an entry about it when it is to explain how it works.
