Hmm. Well.
This one’s a little odd. You see, I camped VE last night again. I was alone, it popped pretty late at night, I killed it with no TH and got not drop. No drop. No pin. So I log out there at the camp site and go to bed. This afternoon, I’m about ready to give it another go when I see my character is naked instead of wearing the dancer AF I was last night. NEVER a good sign. Or so I thought.
First thought: I got hacked. Somehow. HAX.
Second thought: … though they left me in the dunes?
Third thought: and apparently didn’t take any of my gear or gil?
Fourth thought: did Brimah log me on last night to PL him in the dunes or something? I haven’t even seen him on in the past few days. Not that I’ve been on much, but still.
Fifth thought: OH SNAP WTF I’M WEARING AN EMPRESS HAIRPIN.
Yeah.
After the fifth thought it became clear enough that Brimah, the only other person with access to my account (other than the haxxorz) must have camped Emp and killed it sometime last night or so.
I’m not sure how I feel about this. I mean a big THANK YOU to Brimah for going through that ordeal, which isn’t fun even if you’re the one getting the reward. Still it’s sort of like emo-ing out of the real problem; complaining enough so that people solve the problem for you. That wasn’t actually my intention, as I was going to keep trying until I got it or fully gave up on the game, but I don’t know. Plus it’s a little weird that everyone has a better drop rate on NMs than-

Camping Valkurm Emperor sucked. You know that. It’s no fun. But you’ve got a friend that’s willing to do it for you, even without your knowledge, partially because he’s your friend, partially just so you’ll shut up about it. I feel the need to point out that, not only am I not going to delete the following conversation from Ereblog before posting it but in fact am going to spend at least a little time formatting it, which is sort of a pain in the ass on LiveJournal. So not only am I keeping my initial “bitching” as you called it, but I’m showing the world I’m at least a bit psychologically unstable by having this strange inner monologue. Not only did you not accomplish your goals but in fact made me seem even more of a looney.
That’s nothing they didn’t know beforehand anyway.

I punched the nearest fly to death out of spite and general relief. Thankfully dancer has hand-to-hand skill so it didn’t take very long.
So, since I’m apparently back, I need to do a fast recap of the stuff that’s happened in the last month.
Got sword dance, saber dance, and no foot rise (all at level 1) on DNC. Sword dance is the double attack one and is INCREDIBLY SEXY but has somewhat limited exp/limit usage since I can’t cure with it up and so I find myself needing to cancel it often. Saber dance is kind of an “oh shit” button, but a way better one than defender by a long shot, and actually gives me reasonable defenses until I can get shadows up or something. No foot rise only gives 1 flourish at level 1, but it’s on a three minute timer and free flourishes are always good, so not much complaining there. All good abilities. Yay dnc merits!

I did get this hat though, stealing it from Kisa. Don’t feel too bad for her as she got her own the week after. These hats are the only thing we’ve been seeing recently though. And last week’s Nyzul was… “special.” I’ll just link to Kisa’s post on the matter.
For the record though, we STILL haven't missed a week of Nyzul; though it was looking really dodgy during the holidays, we managed to get some runs in. Even when I was in my emo period I logged in for Nyzul. Because that's the kind of guy I am! Suck it Shpendi!
Finished up the current WotG missions. That stupid pop NM tree actually gave us the most trouble. Seen here is a (poor) screenshot of the Battle of Jeuno, a very fast-paced battle with a lot of allied NPCs against a lot of beastmen. Wise and I tried to duo this and got the final guy to 50%ish (that’s pretty good) before dying, then we came back and did it for real with a full party with ease. Good times and good cutscenes surrounding both sides of the fight. I’m okay with WotG mission being easy compared to CoP if they’re going to be of this quality.
“I saved the entire city of Jeuno and all I got was this lousy flag” is written on the other side in rather bitter handwriting.
Got these in Dynamis - Qufim; yet another BLU-1 that I don’t have the relic for. But it was freelot among people that didn’t have the relic so might as well. I mostly remember this dynamis for being the one where we pulled a huge link and I took command of the survivors to beat the last few krakens and avoid a wipe, doing a lot of the damage myself and even 2houring in the mix. BLM is fun when I'm given freedom to kick serious butt.
And picked these up in a recent Jeuno. Some say it’s because I passed BRD feet to someone who was 4/5 but I’m a jaded bastard that doesn’t believe in karma. It dropped right at the end of the run as we were wiping so I hastely lotted and then promptly died. Don't look at me like that; the others lotted too! I won them fair and square! Unfortunately these are the weakest of the set in my opinion, being largely an acc piece on a job with more acc than it usually knows what to do with. I’m convinced they have use but I’m not entirely sure what it is.
I’m probably going to hell for this one. Trust me, it’s not what you think; it’s even stranger. Here, just look at this. Technically a safe link but be wary of innuendos.
But mostly this is what I’ve been doing/trying to do. RNG sub grind ahoy! Thankfully I’m level 21 now and gone from that hole but all the level synching has left me deeply underlined on archery. Stationary worm target skillup GO!
