If they know what's good for them, they'll just let Han, Luke, and Leia die of old age sometime in the interim between the LOTF series and the Legacy comic. There'll be a huge uproar if they kill off Luke, though the title and the cover are suggestive, and we know it's the kind of thing he'd do to save any member of his family.

There's only 3" on this side of town, but it's so icy. I hiked to work with Yak Trax on my shoes. Busy day in the ER despite the weather, although almost everyone was arriving by ambulance. Most of the staff is staying overnight, which makes me very glad I'm close enough to walk. And now I'm warm and snuggled at home, happily watching ST Voyager. It's nice to see that after a several-year absence. And I never watched Enterprise so I'm catching up with that too.

Thank god Luke is all right. :) I'm guessing it will be Jaina who's killed.... Although if Luke is so grief-stricken, maybe it's Ben or Mara. Oh--or Leia! Or Han. .......Have Ieft out anyone? :> Now that I know it's not Luke, I'm actually looking forward to learning what happens. Although this summary of Inferno does indicate that Luke, once again, can't decide what to do. *sigh* He's really a blond, isn't he? ;>

One of the few things I know about the Legacy comic is that Cade refers to Luke as his (great?)grandfather, which seems to imply Ben survives. Unless it is Mara who is killed and Luke in his grief takes up with someone half his age and they have another baby. :)

Hmm...that would work, actually. Get a hot chickee, then he could buy a hot red convertible speeder-- no, wait, he already had one of the latter.
Another possibility is a mpreg story. *choke* I almost hurt myself thinking about that.
Seriously... I was reading somewhere (theforce.net, maybe, all those big SW sites look alike) that amazon and amazonuk have previously posted erroneous book summaries. So we perhaps can't count Luke out as the "sacrifice" yet.

I was guessing Mara - if this is correct and who knows if it is.
And why, oh, why is Luke always so indecisive in the EU? Always waiting until it is almost too late before figuring things out. It gets annoying having Luke being wavering around like a chicken with his head cut off.

I dunno about Mara. I don't see much of a connection between Jacen and Mara, and I think that "sacrifice" implies he will kill someone he is very attached to. Mom, Dad or Sis maybe.
Luke was NEVER indecisive in the OT. Right or wrong, he made decisions and jumped right in. No wonder the younger Jedi get annoyed with him in the EU. All he does is worry about making decisions. Am I right? Am I wrong? What if I'm wrong? What if I'm right? What is there IS no wrong or right? Or what if both wrong and right are right...or wrong?

I have never understood Luke's protrayal in the EU. A dynamic, brave, and insightful character becomes indecisive, wishy-washy, and none to bright. The Vong are destroying entire worlds, and Luke isn't sure that this is the Jedi's fight? And he stands back and constantly defers to the kids?
I'm reading Tempest. Slowly. Luke is his usual dense EU self. Why do they write him so...so vanilla and annoying and unsure of everything?! The EU needs fanfic writers. Too bad Novik doesn't write SW. :> But I'll be really interested to see how Traviss writes Lukey. I have hope.
Haven't heard much about Tempest.
