I need a grammar bitch icon.
Every time I hear that Snow Patrol song "Chasing Cars" or whatever it's called, it irritates me.
"If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
and just forget the world?"
If you lay what? An egg?
He gets it right on the third one. What the hell is up with the first two? llnaughty thinks it's because "If I lie here" sounds awkward. I say then don't write the damn song that way if you can't do it without using the wrong word.
