I'm in a celebratory mood.

Tonight, I'm headed to Disneyland for the first time since NOVEMBER which tells you how tragically busy life has been - every time the prospect of a late night at Disney has arisen these past few months, I've just been too exhausted to even consider it. Tonight, though, I come armed with coffee and the spazzy joy of a THREE-DAY WEEKEND driving me. The park's going through some major maintenance right now (the Rivers of America are drained till May! Noes!) so I'm hoping that will kill crowds just a bit. Huzzah!

It's funny timing, as I've just arrived at Ryan's Amusements in BioShock 2 (yes my initial playthrough is going slow, but I don't mind) and the "Journey to the Surface" attraction is SO inspired by Disney's Carousel of Progress, hee! (An old Tomorrowland attraction that Walt worked on himself back in the day.) Complete with an animatronic Andrew Ryan, old-school dioramas, 50's audio track, and more. Looove it. I am reserving full and final words on this game until I finish it, but so far it is doing nothing to detract from my love for Rapture. I may miss Andrew Ryan just a little, though. His hate-tapes about Sofia Lamb are a highlight. Pretty much everything he says makes Luke and I LOL on cue.

Anyway, a lovely weekend awaits - tomorrow we're spending the day in Los Angeles with my sister-in-law, who is working her food critic status to line up a bunch of excellent eats and drinks in the area. w00t! V-Day will be spent with Church on the Beach in Laguna; Luke and I aren't doing anything "official" until the day after, when we have reservations at the Melting Pot (fonduuuueeee). The last time we ate there was last V-Day, so I think this is becoming something of a tradition for us. I even snatched up a dress for the occasion (which cost me $9 - YAY FOR CLEARANCE), just to have fun going all-out.

Work-wise, I just want to laugh and shake my head because now they've gone and given me a raise. Nothing remotely resembling a review came with it - basically what happened was a supervisor took me aside in to our conference room, said "I finally heard back about your review, we're bumping you up to this, thanks for your work!" and that was that. Literally. I was ushered back out the door within the space of a minute. A MINUTE. And the raise wasn't even a full dollar more. Needless to say, it has done nothing to change my determination to get the hell out of there, but I feel less URGENCY about it lately - I want to be more careful than quick about my next step. I haven't heard back from Awesome Company, but the way they conducted the interview made me not so certain I was dying for their job anyway, so I'm not bothered. Just means I need to move on and do some more applying. The right thing will come along in time.

I have so much more I want to talk about but that'll have to do for now. Hope you all have a great holiday! As far as I'm concerned, Valentine's Day is about EVERYONE you love, not just your romantic interest(s), and on that note I ♥ YOU GUYS.
