Work today was a WHIRLWIND; I'm still trying to recover. But I... kind of loved it? My old position is already a distant memory, and for that I'm surprisingly grateful. The lethargy is gone. I don't just feel like a cog in the wheel anymore. Always a plus

I'm not having a lot of luck convincing people to watch shows I like! Then again, it's because I'm being too honest about how flawed they are. I tried to tell my friend that Farscape was good first season but got way better as it went along. She's unconvinced. But ye gods, is it really so hard to develop one or two kickass women to even things out?
It really seems to be, for this show. There are maybe four recurring female characters. Of the four, one was awesome, one was just kind of sad and pathetic, and the other two were...yeah, not favorites. I shied clear of reading what fandom thought, but I still got enough via osmosis to be a little creeped out.
Jensen Ackles was the best thing about Dark Angel S2, so I was excited to see him in this. Our peanut gallery is in agreement that he likes to channel Brad Pitt; we are also in agreement that this isn't necessarily a bad thing. ;)
My roommate coined the boys "Dumbfuck" and "Fugly." She wouldn't deny that Jensen was fairly pretty, but he makes the world's best idiot face. (And Jared Padelecki...not cute.)
Mostly though, I really do miss having a show like this - with the tried-and-true balance of paranormal mystery and strong leads. The art of the MOTW is a sacred thing!
I do miss that about TV. I mean, story arcs are cool, and I love serials, but I also like day-to-day, week-to-week stories that help to further the overarching plot, too!
