Yesterday I came home to The Dark Knight in high-def and surround sound. It was a thing of sheer poetry. I seriously think the film looks about ten times better on our screen than it did in the theater. And the IMAX scenes, OMG. If only the entire movie were filmed like that: I have never seen such a crisp, hyper-real image... put the rest of the Blu-ray to shame. Luke and I rambled on about the ethical dilemmas of the film and the definition of heroism for like, 20 minutes after it ended, of course. (That final scene always gets me perilously close to tears.) Oh geekery, so much more fun when it's shared.
THEN, the internet decided to grace me with
the new Terminator Salvation trailer in all its HD glory. Ha ha, remember back when I was cursing this movie for existing? Oh, people, my faith is at an all-time high. I am so ready for this, and I believe it can work. My dear Terminator... what a sturdy, intricate mythology you're building for yourself - out of the shadow of Arnold at last. I HEART YOU WAY TOO MUCH.
