What in the bloody...?

Mute Math is covering the Transformers theme for the upcoming Bay/Spielberg madness. Or, should I say covered. As in, they already did, and it's currently streaming on myspace.com/mutemath.

...I really don't know what to say. I want to fall over myself laughing. All it's missing: Adam LaClave and his robot-army of vocoders. It's ironic; I think Earthsuit (the entity from which Mute Math was birthed) would have actually done a more fitting cover of this - they were retro-androids incarnate. Mute Math is more organic in general... but this still has enough electronic geekiness going, and a nice groove. Doesn't betray the band at all (meaning, it's very them), and is certainly worlds more respectable than anything other bands would have done with the song. Still; I can't help but giggle.

The other part of me is utterly speechless that these two worlds have, in fact, collided. The world of fandom and the world of my little band that could. It's the last thing I would've expected on any count ever ever. Just, whaaa? The mammoth exposure this will grant Mute Math is incomprehensible.

...baaahahaaha. Somebody pinch me.
