Road Trip: Tennessee

Jul 14, 2006 16:50

We have arrived in Murfreesboro, mostly unbowed and undaunted. We only had a 2.5 hour drive today, which was part of our cunning in driving 7.5 hours yesterday. The drive into the hills of Tennessee was as lovely as anything can be on an interstate (as usual, the main products of any area seem to be fireworks and porn). Except for asking "Are we in Tennessee yet?" every five minutes, Gillian did well.

We are chilling at the hotel before attending what promises to be a gut-busting barbecue. Tomorrow, the wedding. It's in the evening, so we may try to go to Nashville or something during the day. It is oven hot here, a different type of heat than Florida, but it knocks one over nonetheless, just a bit less damply.
