Day 1
November is here, and so is my promise to post every day. I'm exhausted, and don't have much writing in me right now. Fortunately, in going through my Writing in Progress file, I found many almost complete bits of writing which I can draw on to get me through. In other words, I'm cheating.
Without further ado, here is a poem. I think Monday shall be poetry day. Enjoy.
Girl
Ah, to be a girl in a stained pink dress,
Smiling with two missing front teeth.
Ah, to slide with abandon,
To monkey across the monkey bars
With palms as calloused
As a dog’s paw.
Ah, to sit on the ground and not care
What might get on my clothes.
Ah, to be limned with the rays of the setting sun,
Lit up from outside almost as much as from within.
To run, jump, spin, laugh, fall.
All for myself.
So begineth my month of daily posts.
