Follow Up to Lighten Up
I thought I'd post this follow up to my recent post about the controversy surrounding a school mural in Prescott, AZ. School officials bent to pressure from city councilman Steve Blair, among others, and asked the artists to lighten the faces of several kids portrayed in the mural (the figures depicted were actual students at the school). My friend lives there, and is active in social justice causes. Here is her update on the situation, and it looks like a win. Go Prescott! Do the right thing!
