Idiot...
Just got a call from the Kidling's vice-principal. (Yeah, I know he's legally an adult now, but his behaviour and maturity levels are more like that of a 12 or 13 year old, so thus the Kidling moniker.)
Apparently, he was creating issues in class (again), brooding and sulking and refusing to do the work, though in the final moments he begrudgingly did some of it. Immediately after that class however, he dissed the VP, and skipped the first 15 minutes of his next class to hang out with his "friends" outside and smoke!! The idiot has freely admitted to trying smoking on several occasions (after we discovered the stench in the van) and doesn't seem to understand (or care) how serious of a problem this is. Now he has to serve an in-school suspension over lunch hour tomorrow, and if he doesn't show up for that, he will receive an all-day in-school suspension. I guess that's what they call Detention now.
My head is near to exploding from this gawd-awful cold I've got (which is the only reason the VP caught me at home), and this sort of crap is the last thing I need. Trixstir and I have warned that kid over and over and over about being careful about who he hangs out with, and the dangers of peer-pressure. He was smarter three years ago than he is now! Back then he was talking about how stupid it was for some of the people he knew to be drinking and smoking, and now he's doing just that! I don't mind him having a social drink in a supervised environment, but smoking, let alone skipping class and smoking, is too much.
He's 18 now, and legally an adult. I'd toss him out on his butt if he wasn't still in school. and I'm going to tell him so once he gets home. It's not so much that he's a bad kid, but some of the things he does are just beyond stupid!
