Well, at least the CAT smell is gone...

I finally got around to painting the one corner of the living room with Zinnser B-I-N paint.  This stuff is (supposedly) designed to seal in all kinds of nasty stuff, including pet urine.  I certainly can't smell cat anymore.  In fact, all I can smell at the moment are the fairly strong fumes of the paint itself.

"Use in a well-ventilated area..."   Yeah, at -20c that's a little difficult to do.  Still, I cranked up the thermostat as high as I could, and kept a window open as long as I could stand it.  The paint smells a lot like liquid-paper, and it wouldn't surprise me if it's got a similar formulation.  It dries in 15 minutes, which gives a good idea as to how volatile it can be.  This project really ought to have been done some months ago, but with everything else that was going on around here, it just kept getting pushed onto the back-burners.

I can't believe it's the 23rd of December already.  We don't even have the tree up yet, but we'll get that done tomorrow.  At least my shopping is done, but now I need to wrap a bunch of stuff.  Nothing new there, I've been wrapping stuff until the wee hours of Christmas Eve/Morning for the last few years.  This whole year has pretty much just shot by, and I can only hope that 2009 will calm down a little.  I'd like to think that I'm handling the stress pretty well, but I know there are days that are not so good, and my poor right arm has been throbbing for weeks now.  I'll just be glad when it's over, and we can all relax a little again.

It's going to be a while yet before it's all over, but at least for the next few days we're going to sit back, relax, and enjoy Christmas with our family...
