First, wishing a Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends in the USA. Here's hoping that none of you are being forced to work today, particularly in retail. It's bad enough that there are these insane "Black Friday" sales, even worse that now some retailers are actually opening today and spoiling what one could argue is the biggest holiday in ( Read more... )

My coworker has been dealing with the same kind of antibiotic-resistant cough and throat irritation. A steroid-based inhaler works to reduce the symptoms, but when he came off that, everything came straight back.

We had what seemed like really bad con crud coming out of RainFurrest this year, but I suspect that there was something circulating in the general population that just spread at con (as it would at any large gathering of people). I count myself fortunate that I just had a few days of feeling ill as all the effects of all the stress and vigilance rolled through me, before I got back to normal.

Here's hoping you shake it off soon!

I hope your medical report is great. It would make your birthday very pleasant.

We checked our big farm generator a few days ago and it ran as smooth as silk. We ran it for an hour. Now we are ready for the big drop in temperature that is due to start tomorrow.

Ehh, maybe you don't have anything that shows up. That's possible too. (And most likely, honestly)

As for sensitive eating, I spent most of today nauseous. What I horrid way to spend the holiday! ^-^;

That's why I keep olive leaf oil capsules, echinacea capsules and tea, herbal throat spray and syrup, herbal anti-virals and immune boosters on hand instead of relying on all the drugs the VA would like to stuff down my throat and make me overpay for. At least one antibiotic doesn't work for me anymore anyway, and with my immune system compromised by my brain damage I can't really rely on it to respond appropriately to anything created by and delivered by unnatural means. But herbals engage the non-brain parts of the immune system - mostly the intestines.

Do they at least tell you what organ they're looking at?

This time, yes. Assuming they followed the doctor's request, they're looking at the liver, though the tech pretty much scanned my entire abdomen. Again, this is because my "liver enzymes are elevated" - whatever that is supposed to mean. The doctor is pretty sure it's nothing to worry about, but he ordered the scan just to be sure. I'm slightly concerned because my Dad died of liver cancer around my age, and in fact most of my relatives on Dad's side of the family died of cancer. Mind you, they all smoked and enjoyed a good stiff drink (being Scottish and all) and I do neither. I do, however, definitely have to lose some weight.
