Well, the latter of part of the day is just like the start - utterly craptastic. Thanks LJ, for screwing up once again, and for not saving anything.
I had spent nearly an hour writing a reply to a friend's posting; Carefully thinking about what I was saying, carefully editing and sculpting it... But when I hit
, LJ burps up "Your reply is too long, cut it back a few hundred characters" (more or less), followed by "NeTbArF!!!! The Server is too busy for peons like you! Come back later!" Everything gone. Wiped out in a mouseclick...
And with all the "improvements" that the coders keep trying to ram down everyone's throats, is it any wonder that people are leaving this place in droves? I've got a permanent account, so I'll be here until they pull the plug on the thing, but it hurts to see how dead it's getting. It used to be that if I didn't log on for a day or two (especially over a weekend) it would take at least a couple of hours to catch up with everyone. Now I can be gone for several days and there will only be a handful of new posts. :/
Not that I'm guiltless there... I've been so busy during the days, and so tired at night, that I haven't posted regularly either. Trixstir and I were in Calgary from the 24th to the 28th, and I didn't post a single entry during that time. Thankfully I can go back with the date editor and make entries, but I have to rely on my somewhat faulty memory to make them, instead of writing them as they happened. :/ I enjoy writing, and I enjoy reading about what my friends are up to, I just wish that we were all still here together.
