Blastit....
A customer has had an ice-auger in the shop for about a month now; The rewind starter on the thing was broken, so I had to order a new one before we could even begin anything else. Of course, the part was back-ordered, and though it was supposedly sent out on the 23rd, it just arrived (by mail) today. Fine and dandy, it's here now, and I figured I could just get it installed, get the machine running, and let the customer know he could spend New Year's ice-fishing if he wanted to.
No such luck...
The rope on this brand-new recoil starter snapped after five pulls, and worse, the rewind spring broke! Geeeeze! The good news is that the warehouse now has 35 of them in stock, so getting a replacement won't take another three weeks, but now I've also got to find out how to return/get compensated for this defective unit. As far as the customer goes, if he calls looking for it (yet again) before the new part arrives, I might have to tell a little white lie and tell him it hasn't arrived yet. :/
That's how 2011 wraps up for Iron Pony. We've got a party coming in at the bowling alley tonight, so here's hoping that wraps up better!
