Good start, then fizzle...

The day started off pretty well, and then turned sour later in the evening.  To start, the Kidling and I finished work on a firewood hutch on the farm.  We won't win any prizes for the best construction, but I'm happy with it for now.  It's completely made of recycled and re-purposed materials (wooden pallets from Jack's scrap-yard and 2x4's, 2x6's, and plywood that we salvaged from the wreckage of the old garage on the farm) and it's solid.  It's wide large enough to hold a couple cords of firewood, and has a sloped roof to keep the wood dry.  A tarp covers the front to keep the snow (or rain) from blowing in, and the whole thing was put together with screws so that I can take it apart and rebuild it later when I've got the time and materials to make a better job of it.  We also got the winter tires put on Trixstir's van, so we're about as ready for Winter as we can get.

At the shop, parts that I've been waiting for finally arrived, two customers came in to pick up stuff and pay their bills, and Viterra finally coughed up a cheque.  Now, if only Sears would pay their bill, I'd be happy.  Things started going wrong later in the evening when I closed the shop and headed over to the bowling-alley to relieve trixstir for the evening.

There's still no sign of the GST rebate cheque for the bowling-alley, and we need that cash desperately!  I tried to renew our liquor permit, but it seems that someone has been messing around with the SLGA website, and now the stupid thing just keeps taking me around in a loop when I try to renew our permit.  The permit expires in 12 days, so it's kinda critical to get this done!  I would have done it earlier, but the funds haven't been in place until now, and last year the online renewal took me five minutes.  Now I'm going to have to call them tomorrow and find out what the heck is going on with their website.  Surely, I'm not the only one to be having this problem.  I also haven't heard anything from the electricians who were supposed to come on Monday to hook up the deep-fryer.  We need to have this stuff working!   :/

While I was trying to figure out this mess, Sheldon came into the bowling-alley.  Sheldon is more than a few cents short, and I really dislike having to deal with him.  I finally managed to explain to him that I had a bunch to work that I had to take care of with the computer, and have a nice evening, blah-blah-go-away-blah-blah...  To top things off, while I was aware that it's supposed to snow tomorrow (that's why the Kidling and I put in the extra effort to get the firewood hutch built, and the tires swapped on the van) it seems that Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for tonight!  Bugger!  I need to go to Swift Current tomorrow, and now I'm not sure that I'll even be able to go.  I would have gone today, had we not had to take care of those other things.  I guess we can't complain too much though; Compared to last year, this November has been extremely mild.
