welcome to SK (a subsidiary of Cameco Corp.)

Apr 23, 2007 10:00

Tomorrow we meet with Cameco and the regulators (SK environment, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission) and have our big "here's what we are going to do to fix the big mess up at key lake so they can expand and mess stuff up more!" meeting. It's goign to be fun and scary! Regulators!
I've spent about 2 days on this presentation and gone over all the aspects of what we are going to do about a hundred times. Hopefully they think my thesis is a relevant as I do.

I have knit 31/2 socks this week. Including the ugliest self striping socks on the planet. I had this beautiful ball of 80%wool 20% nylon and I was making these super simple socks for mike's dad as a thankyou for his amazing packing skills (he put everything in our budget truck in vancouver and NOTHING moved between there and here!) somewhere around the heel, this ugly black and orange stripe section shows up. Ugh halloween in the middle of my lovely green and blue socks! Bleh. Mike says that his dad will love them, but I'm not sure. I might make another pair and give these ones to mike (he said they were fine! he'll have to wear them in all their ugly glory!). The last thing I want is for someone to be like 'wow bob, those are crazy socks' and have him say 'yeah, my daughter-in law made them' and have everybody in ON think that I have no sense of colour or taste. we'll see. I would have finished 4 1/2 socks by now, but I wrecked the ribbing on one of them when I was nearly finished and had to rip out the whole thing again. bleh. Will post pictures when I get home.

Last but not least, WE MIGHT HAVE A HOUSE! Our bid was accepted on friday for a little (LITTLE- 640sq. feet!) house on 9th Street between Landsdowne and Dufferin (two blocks up from Grimace which is now a cream colour by the way, em and laurie!) We are coordinating finances and our inspections and if all goes well, we will have the confirmation for this friday and move in on June 1st! EEEEEEEEEeeee!

and now i'm off to hunt down pvc piping in the basement of the vet med building which is the scariest place ever. there are no walls and it's just all dirt. there are probably monsters and sewer critters living down there, making nests out of my pvc pipes.
