We spoke to Leland last night. He asked to pass along his personal thanks for everyone's support. He is hoping to get 2 weeks leave around Mid-August. And he would very much like to escape to the lake for a few days while he is here. Says he would like to be surrounded by water for a change! LOL
He did mention that he went to see Jeff at Al Taji, and spent the night and all the next day with him. He says Jeff is doing really good. I think it did them both a world of good to visit.
He really appreciates all of the cards, letters, boxes, phone cards and all of the love and support everyone has shown for him, and his family. As do we all. It would be so much harder on all of us without you all.
He says he's managing to eat once a day, says it's just too hot to work up an appetite. And that says a lot coming from him! He's still on guard duty at the front gate. He is going to verify for me that that was him in the picture on the web. He says, yes he was dressed like that and doing that very thing, but there was no one around taking pictures that he knew of.
Let's keep those prayers going, they can use them now more than ever!

Maybe Leland and Jason will be home at the same time. That would be cool. We could turn it into a lake party! Heck, Ryan and I might still get to take our "kayak adventure" after all! Would be fun. Can't wait to see the boys home safe.
