I'm working 20 hours of TA next semester with a very hard class outside of my comfort area and writing my thesis. CRUNCH TIME. LAST STRETCH. I was instructed to work on thesis over the summer as well as finish my epigenetic project and I don't want to go to the lab AT ALL. I don't have a job for the rest of the summer (read: I am not getting paid for lab work AT ALL, I just verbally commited to it to my P.I. ) and I want to work on my health and get ready to get ready for a PHD program somewhere. This summer looks like:
  • started crossfit (Mon, Wed Fri 5:30 - 6:45 in Northampton for at least one month)
  • starting morning yoga next week (Tuesdays at 8:30 9:30 am, $5 to join me! Other classes are going on too. Umass campus rec center.)
  • starting medication I used to be on for depressive swings and irritability, starting vivanse and getting off of ritalin. Maybe sex drive and desire to hang out will come back.
  • more frequent therapy sessions, for above reasons.
  • booking massages regularly (need to pick a place) as well as day trips. Matt works, so these might be solo. Kinda broke for awhile.
  • starting The Dark Tower series, re-listening to Harry Potter on audiobook, reading 5 new books. Would love to sit in a coffee/tea/bookshop with someone else and just read.
  • sleep-deprived for the past five weeks, ready to get 8 hours a night again. Waking up at around 8 am every day regardless of weekend or weekday is not a problem, that's my internal alarm.
  • Gathering recipes that are actually delicious and afforable and taste great cold. Mostly cold salads without greens.
Scott and Tabbi's senior german shepard I'm sitting, Veritek. Tek for short. He LOVES car rides. It's  Tek is really a heckin good boy, sometimes borks because he has doggy dreams or the evil mailman is upon us but otherwise really on his A-game behavior. Professional napper. Sometimes pouty but extremely friendly. Really cute legs.

Between the vacation and the dogsitting in CT, I've lived out of ziploc freezer bags and luggage for a week and a half. I cannot wait to be able to use my vanity and shower. I'm never listening to other people give me packing advice again. I am NOT high-maintance but I have ALWAYS had 2-4 wardrobe changes a day (exercise clothes, daytime/play clothes, nice outfit, jammies) and I ran out of not smelly/not stretched out clothes to wear on day 3 of the cruise!

I went to Bermuda. Say it very slow, like it's the most beautiful, magical place in the whole world. Ber-mu-da. Horseshoe Bay Beach and the Crystal Caves.

I'll throw a picture album up on Facebook, I'll talk at length about it in person.

I deleted Facebook off of my phone and I am trying not to check it or use it because I think it contributes to my anxiety or at the very least it is mostly uncomfortable interactions that I could live without.
I still love snapchat, though.
