Sooo...

Yesterday I fell off a horse.

He was brand new to the barn and from what I'm told, another horse passed him and he got nervous and freaked out, eventually resulting in him going one way and me going the other.

I waited in the observation room for awhile (I don't know how long) for my parents to come, and one of the moms there took care of me (she was amazing). Once my parents got there, we went to the hospital.

Four hours, six x-rays and a cat scan later, they determine that I have a bruised lower spine, tailbone and pelvis and a pretty decent concussion resulting in short term memory loss (I don't remember much of anything between earlyish that morning and about 7 that night, nor do I remember what the horse looked like, where I was riding, what I was doing or the actual fall). I also have a scrape and very colorful bruise on my right arm.

I'm not allowed physical activity (riding) for two weeks, and for the next couple days I'll be on 600mg Motrin and Darvacet (a narcotic) for the back pain.

God has been good to me, since I've been riding for ten years now and never had a serious fall (besides the pony induced concussion last summer), so I guess it was just my time.

It's probably a good thing I don't remember the accident itself. I don't want to be afraid of horses or riding, but I know I'll probably be extra cautious and probably a little more nervous from now on.

Blahhh.
