I just thought I'd share a handful of photos from the recent snow we had (which is currently melting at a rapid rate). I always have fun taking the horses out to ride in the fresh snow, and they seem to enjoy themselves, too.
Thank you! They all belong (or belonged) to my Boss Lady, and the pretty little three year old is a Sir Donnerhall filly she purchased as a foal in Germany. She will be a broodmare for the farm, but I am hopeful that she will also be my partner through the levels over the next few years.
I don't do too much on snow ride days- we grab the camera, head out, and trot and canter for maybe 5-10 minutes. Just long enough to have fun and get a good workout in moving through all that snow. :) We haven't had it so deep I won't ride in it yet, but I do have to be careful that the snow isn't crusted on top, and that there is no hidden ice underneath. This snow was just about perfect, though!
We had about anywhere from 5-6 feet of snow the past week - though now it is down to nearly nothing thanks to the few days of warm weather. Snow belt livin - going to be icy now so I can't take him out, and certainly couldn't in the deeper stuff as he's only 14.3 hh. XD
