I'm trying to figure out what is best for my mare training-wise.

When I got her a few months ago, she had a 11 month colt on her and had only been led around with grandchildren on her back for about the last 4 years. Before that---no one knows.

After a couple of weeks, I could ride her alone out in the open, and did some trails. We advanced to jogging the trails, and cantering the straight track. (All with lots of encouragement and some backwards trotting to the end of the world and back, obviously her idea--not mine)

I want her to have the best, so i got a job that lets me have plenty of hours to keep her in pretty hunter green tack ;) and specialized smartpaks.

She is kept on the same generalized feed routine everyday (with the exception of 1-2 hours off schedule/bad traffic) and i make sure i hug her and tell her I love her....even if feeding is the only time i get to see her that day :( Regularly wormed and vetted. So all her issues lie in her attitude.

I was having problems with her refusing to go forward sometime, and general rude behavior, so i found a trainer that would come to my house and work with the BOTH of us.

Long story short, I like the trainer alot, and my mare really responds to her. And HER only. That horse sees me as nothing but a walking carrot factory, that hums to her and braids her mane...and is doing anything and everything to keep it that way!! When I try to longe her, its a rodeo show with rearing, kicking, bucking, and striking. I was just trotting with her in hand a couple weeks ago and she kicked me in the back. And forget about trying to ride her now. When I ask her to do anything that isnt her idea, she kicks, whines, or bucks to make it stop. Miss smartypants is clever, I'll give her that, because it's defiantely working. I can't do much when i'm face down in the mud and she's teleported two fields over, grazing like noooooothing happened.

But when i take her out and just brush her and love on her, she loooves the attention liek always, and will sidestep just for me to pat her if i stop. She's a sweetie, as a lawn oranament.

The trainer has a tight schedule and hasnt been back in about a month...but with the grain, hay, and ungodly amounts of money in smartpaks...im literally feeding this horse my paycheck, and getting kicked face down when i come home from making all that money at work!! >.<

I'm not going to sell her, and I'm not letting her be a pasture potato like she wants.
I want to do this on my own, so the job is a must.

Suggestions on how to prioritize my time and money?
And why she got so sour after some training/what to do now?

behaviour issues, finances, training problems
