(no subject)
So for those of you who saw my post last week about my new horse Sam ( here), here's a little update. Feel free to use this as a general update/gush about your horse post!
After the first few days being VERY exciting he settled in well and has been excelling and pretty much everything I've asked him. Move off my leg? Sure. Bend? No problem. He even walked up on the bank and trotted through the grob in our jumping arena like it was nothing. Either someone has done a lot with him at some point or he just has a damn good mind. I had ridden him a few times in a german martingale to encourage a headset but took it off today and look what I got:
Ignore the fact that I have a red saddle pad on a chestnut horse...I know, I know. It's no equitation frame but if this is how he goes after sitting in a pasture for a year and a half, I'd say it's not too shabby! This little dude is turning out to be pretty damn awesome. He's balanced, consistent, and surprisingly adjustable. Looks like we might be jumping sooner than I had thought!
