My friend's adorable filly has started developing nosebleeds as the weather gets colder. Nothing serious but a very big annoyance as Missy DOES NOT like having her face washed and her owner is not a big fan of the "abused horse" look. To top it all off, Missy has a massive blaze and lots of pink skin to make everything really obvious.
Their vet suggested putting her on medication if they get worse but really has no ideas for holistic prevention. Do you guys have any? I know Memphis got them occasionally when it was cold and dry and our solution was to stick him in a stall with a humidifier for a little while (don't mock, it worked). She could stick Missy in their wash stall and run hot water to make it humid, but because she's on field board they can't just keep her in a warmer stall every night.
