Well I have had nothing but success.Granted all we do is walk and trot but never has one fell off yet. We have been on 16 rides with them now. I know you said the farrier fit them. In the pic it looks like they come up quite high, is that just the picture? I also researched these things extensively when thinking of getting some. Many boots do not come big enough for my mare so I had only a few choices. My neighbor has the OLd MacG2 which is the new one nad she is having rub problems. So this is why I went with the easyboot as they were below the hairline. Talking with the easycare ppl on the phone they right off the bat, first thing said to me, was if you don't measure correctly and thus get the proper fit you will have occassional problems with them falling off. You must have a tight fit she told me. Now my other two neighbors use easyboots and also have had excellent luck with them for over 5 yrs now for one and 3 for the other neighbor. They both tell me they have never come off. These two spend hours up on the mountain on trails every day. I can tell you that if you are getting them on without having to do the twist back and forth thing like the book that comes with them shows you, then they are not tight enough. Don"t know but they sure are working very well for me and my neighbors. I paid $60 for the front ones direct from easycare and $40 for the hind ones from Equus. NOt sure why they acn sell them cheaper but they did and easycare charged me $18 extra for the larger size too. It looks lik eyou bought the Epic as I see tthe gaitor. I have just the easyboot. The original old mac, the Old MacG2 and the Boa are only rated for use of 25 miles per ride per week is what this 40 page catolog I just received from Easycare says. That after taht rubbing is a possibility. Something to keep in mind if you plan on using them for more than 25 miles a week. Don't know. This is just the experiences my neighbors and I are having. I absolutely love them. I did want to try the renegade boots but again not big enough for my big footed girl.

No. My Trimmer measured two different sized boots for the two horses. If anything I think that on my gelding they might have been too small. We trim every four weeks and by week three it gets difficult to put the boot on him.
I only do reeeally light trail riding and the boot fell off at a trot. The way it broke was that the top part- the Velcro bit- came away from the body of the boot. I should have mentioned that earlier. I don't know whether that was the impact from the boot falling off or what.

I don't have velcro as I don't have the Epic, I have the easyboot. I do love them though. Took another ride today with all four on. Don't know, us guys around here have excellent luck and love them. I sorry you have so much trouble. That sucks as they are expensive. Wouldn't it be cheaper to have someone here buy them for you and then send them on to you? That's awful what you have to pay. I trim every 4 weeks as well. And yup by the third week I have to rasp a tiny bit which the easycare ppl said I might have to and I do. ITs too bad they aren't working for you, I wouldn't be without them. As far as being small, don't know, I've been told if you can get them on correctly with twisting back and forth then they are good. I do know a correct fit is very tight. Have you tried a Renegade?
