Hey everyone,
I just had a few questions about some products I am thinking about buying, and wanted to know if anyone had experience with them, Thanks!

Okay, so we are sort of looking for a calming supplement for Thunder.  A friend used and recommends "Daily Calm."  He said he uses it with his horse and that it works well.  Also that it is legal with ( Read more... )

I have a pair of synthetic boots I bought for $25 when the State Line Tack store in a local PetsMart was going out of business (very lucky find!). Otherwise I probably would not have bought them. They are actually very nice, and are lighter than my leather boots were. And they're more flexible, too. I love riding in them, and am glad I bought them. You can also clean them with leather cleaner, or a damp rag. I clean mine with baby wipes, and they looks nice :)

If you're not going to do anything more schooling shows or lower level shows, they'd probably be great and work just fine.

I've found the Saxon tall boots to be surprisingly comfortable. A big part of that though might be the fact that since it is not leather, you don't have to break them in. I could take or leave the paddock boots though. They're ok just as cheap, general boots. Nothing spectacular though and I think they look kinda cheap. The tall boots, in my opinion, look nicer than some other brands (Devon-Aires jump to mind). Can't tell you on the longevity of the boot though. It really depends how often you use them and how hard you ride in them. A lot of variation. I like the Ovation Field Boots as well, but can't tell you on any sizing differences.

Good luck!

I have the Saxon Equileather Tall boots, and I don't like them. They look just like leather boots, are easy to clean, and are fairly comfortable, but if I sweat in them, my legs are wet when I take them off, because they don't breathe at all. Also, the zipper broke less than a year after purchasing them, and I only use them for shows and the occasional lesson before a show. That was cheap and easy to fix, but I've heard other people have had problems with the zipper too. Other than the zipper, they seem pretty durable. Size-wise, I'd say try them on. That's the best way to find your size. Just keep in mind that they're not leather, so the ankles don't really drop and they don't stretch. I do know people who absolutely love these boots, but personally, I wouldn't buy them again. They seemed like a good cheap option for someone who would only be doing college horse shows for the next few years, but I would recommend spending just a little more on real leather boots. You'll be much more comfortable with real breathable leather, ( ... )

My Saxon paddocks are giving out and I got them in the end of October. My first riding lesson was Nov 1 which is when I started wearing them. I went with them to start because I wasn't sure how much I was going to ride and if my knees were going to hold up. I was started out riding once a week for the first few months, then went to twice a week. Since the end of March I've been riding 3 or 4 times a week. The equi-leather on the left boot has gotten some small wear holes so I'm going to need to replace them shortly.

oh, thanks for all the input. i definitely want something that will last me through next year at least (going to college next year, lol) and the occasionaly summer schooling show this summer. I am leaning more toward the ovation finalist pro field boots right now, because they are real leather, and they're only like $150. And, because on horsetackreview.com there is more good responses from them, lol.

I had a pair of the saxon paddock boots for around a year of hard use and loved them, the zipper just busted on one of them so Im ordering another pair, it was a front zipper though not the back ones.

use exstress and work the horse more often. even if its chasing him around the ring once or twice a week more than you do now.
