Follows Barrels (Bilbo gets wet, and that's not a good look for a dragon)

Moonshine. The Last Light. Of course they hadn’t missed anything. Not that Bilbo really saw why everyone had been so despondent when the sun had gone down. There would have been next year.

A year is a long time to wait, but surely they could have used the time wisely? Called for reinforcements of dwarves. Began rebuilding Dale. Bilbo would have been happy to walk in the front door. The Company had said that ‘Smaug’ had taken the Treasury - there was no line of sight to the front gates from there.

But they found the hidden door, and sent Bilbo down the passage to find the Arkenstone.

He hardly felt nervous. It was not like there was a dragon down there. He had left years upon years ago to live in the Shire; though, he did come back from time to time. He wondered why he’d not been seen. A dragon is not invisible, not even at night.

Ah! Here was the end then. And here is the treasure. All a bit much for Bilbo; he much preferred his home back in the Shire. And as soon as he found Thorin’s rock he was going straight home.

Coins clinked and shifted as he walked through the great hall; then, quite suddenly and unexpectedly the floor moved and, like an avalanche, gold and jewels tumbled and slid. Cascading with a terrible racket, and when Bilbo turned, there standing amidst the treasures of Erebor, was a dragon.
