...aaaand I'm still cold.
So, our power just came on about an hour ago, after being out for 12+ hours! We had no electricity, no hot water, and, worst of all, NO HEAT! The house is still freezing!! I have the heat up to 80 so it will warm up fast! The news reported that Mass Electric said 4,000 people w/o power, but my uncle (the one who works for Mass Electric) said it was more like 80,000, just in the Merrimack Valley. Ouch.
But yeah, that storm yesterday was friggin ridiculous! I left work at 6, and didn't get home til around 7:30 (usually it takes me a half hour with traffic). It wasn't so much the snow, but the wind that was ass-kicking. I thought the windows were going to blow in last night! I went out to shovel and I almost got blown over twice...it was insane!
So, after freezing my ass off all last night, the power still wasn't on this morning. So, I called in to work since I couldn't shower, or get warm for that matter. I had to bring my car into the shop anyway for an oil change and 90k tune-up, so at least the morning isn't a total waste. The power is back on though, and I am all showered. So, as soon as my car is done, I'm heading to work. First, I have to go finish shoveling the little bit of snow that's left and clean the house. Kayla might be coming over for dinner tonight, so that should be a nice time!
