Dissertation going pretty well. Data analysis is fun! Sort of.

Went to the department in all innocence last Monday and came out with responsibility for supporting a distance learning module on research skills. Quite pleased - no face-to-face teaching responsibility, but student support and marking.

Went to the department in all innocence on Tuesday and came out with a commitment to co-teaching a core first-year undergraduate module. I did the module myself a few years ago, and it's pretty straightforward, but it's really not an area i would consider myself an expert in. And teaching starts in two weeks. Argh.

Lying around in bed this morning, randomly saying things in French and German (we are such a lot of fun, you have no idea...), I said to The Husband (who could see the clock), "Quelle heure est-il?" (please excuse any spelling errors in my French).
TH: Eight forty-two.
Me: Quelle heure est-il, en Francais?
TH: Nine forty-two.
