Due to the fires in British Columbia, the air here is very hazy and many people I know are reaching for their inhalers. It is also quite hot, with no sign of rain in the forecast.
. . . and the office of emergency management has posted a Stage One burn ban and an alert: the air's unhealthy for sensitive groups (very young, very old, people with existing heart/lung conditions) and people are being urged to stay indoors for the next three days if they can.
In retrospect, walking to the library and back after yoga was not one of my better choices.
A wonderful time was had flailing over last week's episode of GoT with the woman staffing the desk, kicked off by my spotting the T-shirts for the 100-hour Reader summer programme: the bright red one read "That's what I do: I read and I know things." She grinned when I pointed at it and said "That's the one I've got." As she'd just checked out a ton of fantasy written by women for me, it was a safe bet that I'd want to discuss the magnificence that was Diana Rigg.
