Due to the fires in British Columbia, the air here is very hazy and many people I know are reaching for their inhalers. It is also quite hot, with no sign of rain in the forecast

I saw a satellite picture of Washington State earlier today and thought of you - it seemed impossible for you not to have smoke-filled air :(

There is no sign of blue sky today; yesterday there was a bit visible if one looked up far enough. P. and Dear Friend S. have had to resort to their inhalers, and an acquaintance in Seattle was packed home from her office yesterday morning, to work from home with the air conditioning and HEPA air filtration running.

P. and I are away north Sunday, to visit fufaraw and her good spouse, and we are all hopeful that there will be a bit of an offshore breeze keeping the worst of it away. If there is any rain going unclaimed over your way, would it be a dreadful bother for you to post it to us?
