This is why I shouldn't be a scientist

Okay, I'm starting to think I'm really not cut out for science/engineering -- or anything else that requires working with my hands.

The timeline of my EPIC FAIL:

May, 2007: Receive v. expensive piece of equipment ordered from Germany.
October, 2007: Break it.
December, 2007: Send it back to Germany for repairs. Cost: $900
February 1, 2008: Receive v. expensive piece of equipment. Again.
February 26, 2008: Put v. expensive piece to work.
March 11, 2008: Break it.

The hilarious part: it's broken in EXACTLY the same way for EXACTLY the same reason. That reason being that I tightened the screw too far and torqued it, i.e. clumsiness and my big fat stupid fingers.

The only upside is that Postdoc and I both messed with it, so it is possible that I was not the one to break it this time. Yay Reasonable Doubt!
