I thought I joined Twitter to avoid massive update posts...
(1) I've been essentially "working" these weekends as part of the cast of a community theater production of Aladdin (just like the Disney movie). They asked for belly dancers, they got belly dancers! We're more animated set dressing than part of the cast, but it's fun to be in community theater again.

One of the other dancers in the cast is from my dance school. I've known her for a while, we get along well because she also went to my uni.
But I had kind of a weird conversation with her today. She kind of announced, out of the blue, something about trying to cut down on how much she ate because she's trying to stay 115 pounds. Er, okay? I'm trying to sort of subtly spread size acceptance at my dance school (it's great about accepting other people, but the I Hate My Body Olympics are alive and well), so I laughed and said I couldn't believe I outweighed her by fifty pounds. It took the wind out of her sails, because I'm just as slim as she is (though I'm 8 inches taller).
But she kept with the diet talk, about cutting out gluten and maintaining her weight and whatnot. So I said, "I practice Health at Every Size -- I eat to stay healthy, not to lose weight." She had never heard of it, but one of the other dancers does too!! She was excited that someone else knew about it. It was kind of fun, because Dieting Dancer kept trying to talk up her Super Healthy Weight Maintaining Diet while the rest of us kept undercutting her because we eat the same stuff she does. I felt a bit bad, because she clearly wanted to be praised for being the same weight she was in college. None of us would oblige though.
(I also thought it was a bit offensive, since she was clearly by far the lightest out of us, and at least one of the other dancers was self-described "tall and fat" and myself and two others are roughly in-betweenies.)
(3) Goddamit I will finish this fic if it kills me. That goddam Five Things fic where I can only think of FOUR THINGS GODDAM. I went and rewrote 3 other Things, I'm very happy with them, but still no 4th. GRRR.
(4) Project Ukulele! Still mostly the same few chords, but songs are starting to sound like actual songs. And I told my labmates! So now they want me to bring it to work so we can all play with it. Hee. It should be fun, especially since one is a talented guitarist.
