Strike three
My sleeping patterns are reverting to normal, ie chronic unpredictable insomnia. I literally didn't sleep at ALL last night, but I'm not too wiped today. Tomorrow I probably will be. Oh well, I'll be in the perfect mood for tightening up my resume and doing mundane stuff like that. Maybe clean the floor, I've been cooking and there are bits of like...onion and stuff on it. Plus cat fur.
It's really starting to hit home just how expensive everything is over here. I don't know whether it's just the recession, or whether I'm glorifying Home or whatever, but it's a lot. Plus, still not used to the whole tipping dealio. Very weird. Oh well, I suppose I'll adjust in time. Bars are whatnot are going to LOVE me when I get back and just automatically tip 'em 15%! Hahaha.
It's interesting how many people I know that are in Vancouver or are GOING to be in Vancouver in the very near future. There is a little club-thing near our local haunt called the ANZA - Australian & New Zealand Association. I am SO joining. Apparently they have super cheap beer, which is what I am all about. Wonder if I get discounts for actually being a Kiwi? That would be way rad. I'll have to look into it.
Not much else in the way of exciting things have really happened. Street market day was a blast, got a bit sunburned, danced a lot to awesome random bands as per expectations. It's weird club-hopping at night and seeing all the homeless parking up in the slightly seedier edges of town. Another thing I'm not yet used to and possible never will be. Oh well. Friday night is Zombie Night! Double Feature at some theatre, Dawn Of The Dead and Shaun Of The Dead. Really looking forward to it. Janna's friend + our future roomie Krystal is in training to be a makeup artist, and the movies are cheaper if you go in costumes, so I'll try and get some photos of us as zombies. One of the chefs from The Pub (The Three Lions or something, it's our hangout) who is also apparently a bassist and going to marry me is coming along, and I see much hilarity ensuing because we are both loud obnoxious dorks. Fun times all 'round.
