Wilson is dead. House doesn't cry at Wilson's funeral because he still sees Wilson regularly...in his dreams. The dream!Wilson looks, talks, and acts just like Wilson, but is House going nuts (well, crazier than usual) or is something else at work here.
Don't let the character death warning scare you away, dear ER readers, House is a smart guy, and he does eventually find a way to keep Wilson permanently, without doing anything that's crazier than in canon. The concept is very original (sorry, but I can't tell you what it is without ruining the story) and the characterization is superb. Plus great banter. House even complains to Wilson how Wilson's death has inconvenienced him! And did I mention there is dream!sex?
If sad stories are not your thing, don't let the warnings deter you from reading A Joy Forever because this is actually a very sweet story with a truly satisfying ending.
