What a succinctly accurate summary. Usually I rec fics for specific aspects that I find particularly well done, but I'm totally throwing this up because it's 15k words of Jack Zimmermann being adorable over a substantial period of time.
That said, I really do admire the way tropes draws out the development of the relationship. There's certainly no hurry, but it also never stalls, the emotional milestones keeping the story moving forward at all times.
