Della19 Summary: He kisses her like it’s the end of the world. And then he dies, and it is, and Peggy starts counting the years in terms of A.S. After Steve. And then she gets to 5 A.S and realizes she hasn’t aged a day, and it occurs to her that kiss might have been more important than she thought. Peggy/Steve and a happy ending.
Review: This actually hits one of the major tropes that drives my completely insane about the Superhero Genre. The idea that every male superhero that has a movie also has a girl he's destined to be with.
Which is pretty much a load of crock. Anyway what Della did with this series was turn that idea on it's head. With the help of one Kick-butt agent Peggy Carter. Yes all of the characters end up paired off with their 'destined' partners, but none of the woman are just sitting around waiting for their boys to come back home.
Peggy lives an awesome life, reinvents herself, matchmakes like the crochety old woman, you just know she would have grown up to be in another universe, and basically steers the whole universe in a new direction. One that involves babies and weddings, and happily ever afters all around. All without ever becoming the token 'female love interest' or resolving that 'she doesn't need a man'. Pepper, Betty, and Darcy are awesome as well, and the boys are all very much in character but it's Peggy who makes this series what it is.
