You can run away from love, but you can't escape it altogether - as Steve McGarrett and Danny Williams discover, one sultry summer evening.
Normally I wouldn’t think of reccing a story that’s scheduled to be pulled from the ‘net in the near-ish future but there’s something about this fic that makes me want to ignore that entirely and share. Set in the original Hawaii Five-O universe, which has some significant differences from the remake, this story is about love, denial, and how painful those two things can be when put together. It’s also about how rewarding it can be when one of those finally conquers the other.
While I don’t want to spoil the fic by giving too many details, I thought the author captured both Steve and Danny’s hesitance, confusion, and pain wonderfully, especially considering how relatively short this story is. Though I admit this fic might not work for everyone, especially those who are looking for ties to the new H50, it still managed to tug at my heart strings in all the ways I enjoy. Definitely well worth reading, especially before it goes offline.
