Review: The author describes this as a 'PWP' and honestly I think that's fair; it's not a particularly substantial piece of work but it is very sweet and entertaining nonetheless.

Simply put, it's Christmas Eve and Hathaway goes looking for Lewis - only to find him still at his desk trying to navigate his way through an online dating website. Lewis's daughter has told him that it's time he started dating again; Lewis, reluctantly, concedes that yes, he is lonely.

On the flimsiest of pretexts, he lets Hathaway come home with him. They're supposed to be getting to grips with the website from there, but once they've had a drink and discarded a few inhibitions they find themselves yet again on the brink of 'that conversation' - the one they so nearly had on screen - and although Lewis honestly attempts to do the right thing, there is really no hope for him after that.

I wish I thought it could really be as simple as this for Lewis and Hathaway, but Sarren handles the complicated dynamic between them very well and gives a nice flavour of their semi-reluctant banter into the bargain. As with most stories of this length, I wish there had been a great deal more of it; however it's light and gentle and the boys are happy together at the end - and what more could one wish for, really, than that?
