This is probably going to be my shortest rant ever. The Do Over Series was recommended to me by a number of people so I decided to give it a try. The writing is alright and I very much liked the sci fi/action/adventure aspects of these stories. Hee! As a silly, uninformed American, I understood none of the above:) However, I find that stories you don't like are stories I don't like, so I'm not going to rush out to read this one.

Though, I am curious -- what fandom is it in?

It's actually original fiction (I'll tag this appropriately as soon as I finish my reply).

Like I said, the story itself isn't too bad, but I just really couldn't get over the political differences (e.g. the author thinks Reagan is one of the best presidents in American history, right up there with the founding fathers). The main characters get involved with the military...and there's some killing of foreigners all in the name of national security... Just not my thing.

The MCC thing is driving me crazy. Too many possible hits D: What does it stand for? (The NDP was googleable and I'm waving my own little green flag from this side of the Atlantic:)

My personal experience: Uber conservative fundamentalist gay Christian group. They're like your average Evangelical church except gay friendly.

I wouldn't say the series has any overt Christian messages (maybe I'm just dense), but conservatism? Definitely yes.
