Last year I wrote:Every so often, and no more than twice a year, I manage to have a fit of incredible energy on a very busy day. Today was one of those days, and after patching servers at 5:30 AM, I hopped on my bike and rode to work.
That experience was repeated last Wednesday, when I hitched a ride from my neighbor to work after 5:30 patching. I was early enough that I caught some really nice light and had a productive wander through Campustown with my camera.

Za's/Zorba's rises from the ashes of the fire earlier this year:




I don't know whether to be reassured or skeptical that the company rebuilding Za's/Zorba's describes their business as "avant-garde engineering":

If I had it to do over again, I think I'd hire a scruffy model to sit in this alley, with an empty bottle of beer. This picture is OK but the human element would portray the college drinking experience:
