I just finished Tortilla Flat. I swear, even when he writes comedy, he has to kill SOMEONE. I'm just glad it wasn't the Pirate, I would have thrown the book across the room, as I did with Of Mice and Men. And then when he's done killing the someone, shit has to burn down and it all has to end with a note of bittersweetness.
DAMMIT.
Good book though. -thumbs up-
