I think I'm more thrilled about Matt Stairs hitting a grand slam in the Phillies game than this episode...
Sorry, guys, but Kripke annoyed me right off with introducing that "slash fan" in the beginning. I wondered if he'd been reading "Bimbos of the Death Sun" because that seems to be his image of fans. (And she wasn't just a slash fan, she was a wincest sam!girl...wonder if he was attempting to make amends.)
Anyway, so the episode starts with the boys ending up on a plane out of nowhere and I turned to my husband and said "Wow, Supernatural really IS turning into Lost now..." especially with the casting of Lucifer's vessel, who resembled Ron Perlman to me, no matter what hubby says:)
As soon as Bobby told Sam to lose his number, I knew it wasn't Bobby. Then when he went and said "John was right." Oh yeah, so not Bobby.
When Bobby stabbed himself, hubby turned and looked at me with a panicked look and asked how many episodes Jim Beaver was supposed to be in...I admit my heart bottomed out into my stomach. They wouldn't kill Bobby, would they?
Dean as Michael's vessel? Kripke HAS been reading fanfic...although he nixed the whole Sam as lucifer's vessel that's been going around the fan circles.
I was happy to see Castiel kicking ass for ONCE. Apparently he IS on a mission from God. But does this mean that Jimmy is gone?
Overall, the episode did what it had to do - set up the rest of the season. The boys against both demons and angels, but also against each other, Dean walking away from Sam, with a nice line for the ficcers..."we can't be what we were..." Hopefully the rest of the season WILL be them building their relationship back somehow.
I loved Jensen in the scene with Bobby in the hospital. He was a Dean we haven't seen in a while, even if he was faking it for Bobby's sake.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the season, as long as we don't get any more visits from the hysterial fangirl, unless we meet her saner beta as a good contrast....;)
