It's interesting to see how Jeff views Jensen verses how Jensen views himself. Jeff sees him as this supremely confident young man, yet Jensen is still able to be hurt by Hartley. I like that Jensen, even after all of his training, after all of his missions, is vulnerable enough that his feelings are hurt. That speaks of an incredibly strong person.
And I love how caring Ferris is. And how she tries to prepare Jensen, but knows that no one can prepare someone to be a slave. And her warning to Jeff! I love her being overprotective.
It's nice to get a glimpse of this world and this situation Jeff stumbled onto. I'm curious if Johnson secretly likes the idea of d/s since he seemed familiar with the equipment and horrified by the activities in a way that could be an indication of personal shame over fantasies.
Anyway, I'm so glad to see an update to this story! *g* Thanks for the shiny new chapter!
Thank you for the comment! I'm glad you're enjoying this verse:)
I really like your analysis of Jensen's character. He's able to keep his sense of self strong despite everything he's had to do during his career. But he's still human, he can still be hurt.
I absolutely love Ferris myself:)
I have something planned for Johnson, but I really like your interpretation of the events:)
I was so excited to see this story. I loved the other two in this verse.
I really enjoyed the story about the first mission. It makes sense why it has to be Morgan. Fits beautifully. And I'm kind of wondering what's happening to those officers left behind! I'm not terribly fond of Johnson at this point.
And the "hero of Alfani," I'm very curious about that.
Thanks for all your hard work. It really made my day!!
An awesome beginning to this new section. I really enjoyed some of the glimpses back to Jensen's training and Jeff's mission - both so interesting. I wonder about Hartley's animosity; is there something behind it beyond their shared past. People with that much unreasoning hatred are usually afraid of something.
