Legion musings
Re-reading the Codex Legion for the Legion of House Manticore, since I'm
sponsoring a petitioner and am working on specialized equipment. I need to
pick up two 2' x 3' 1/2" birch ply sheets (unless I can get my claws on
something lighter and just as sturdy, like maybe a box of 5-ply laminate
flooring aka techply) so I can make two legion-standard shields. Dergoth
(my petitioner) needs to have his strapped for wearing as a back shield
since he's a skirmisher, and I'd like to have something a bit smaller than
my Giant Barn Door of Doom (~27" by ~48") for the more-common small-group
fighting I do. The big shield really works best as part of a proper shield
wall...
I also need to work on giving orders to small groups of fighters. I just
need to start grabbing a skirmisher and a support weapon and get us all
working together, then building from there. Also thinking I should just
make my own Legion tabard, since I have the material, and that way I can
make it a reversible herald/reeve/referee tabard >.> I will need help with
the manticores though. Will have to talk to Simon or John about those, but
if I can get a stencil I should be set. I sense I will be coloring the red
bits with fabric paint or marker though...
