like the last time and the time before.
I had my first day of work today. I learned kind of how to use a cash register, hooray. The manager would go off and get various bottles of liquor and bring 'em to me so I could pretend to be in an actual sale. Fun stuff. Once he pretended to be drunk. Oh wow, get this, the Hennessy is actually kept locked up or behind counters. You can't get it off the shelf. So he walked up to my register saying, "Yo yo, dawg, where da Henny at? Lemme get...ain't there a fourteen dollah bottle o' dat? Why you ain't keep it on the shelf? Why you gotta put da Henny away like dat?"
So...when there's no one coming in to buy anything, we're supposed to line up the bottles so they look nice. It was so natural for me. Then I started watching what people bought, so when they left I'd go to where that particular bottle was and even it up again (move the line of bottles up a notch). I've already developed a system, aha.
And you can buy liquor at the Virginia ABC stores the last day of your twentieth year, i.e. the day before your birthday.
Almost all tequilas are 80 proof (except Tarantula, which has blue coloring and some kind of...blue...flavoring, so it's 70). More people buy miniatures than I would think. You can't buy club soda or mixers (anything non-alcoholic) at an ABC unless you're of age. I got a booklet called Retail 101 Workshop. I have to answer questions like, "What do you think customers who shop at ABC expect?"
Parking is so great right now because no one's here in the summer.
I won't get a paycheck until June 16, so I'm going to have very little money for a while. Blah.
