I was born into the wrong era...possibly the wrong reality. Anyone who has known me for a while--like about fifteen minutes--figures this out pretty quickly. I belong in the kind of future that I'm depicting in the Kaniraverse; much of
The Adventures of Kanira Baxter is wish-fulfillment for me, no question.
For example...much as I was kvetching about what I've built to represent the Cape Cod of the future in my last LJ entry, THIS picture is just...well...take a look:
I belong there. Seriously; that's the world I was led to expect when I was a child, this white-and-shining future, all glittering towers of glass and steel, white and silver, high-tech, sleek and futuristic. I really MISS that vision of the future; the world has moved away from it pretty hard in the last few years, preferring dark dystopias instead.
But this picture makes my heart swell; truly, this is the world I belong in. And I had to make it myself.
